Come Closer

But while I’ve taken many wide-angle landscape shots myself, I’ve also delved into Black and White photography and macro photography. While monochrome can be an art form in itself, I’ve found that macro offers a lot of interesting possibilities for the digital artist. While Monet and other “En Plein Air” painters focused on the entire scene, I think macro photography allows you to explore a whole new universe of subjects to “focus on”.
An example of my macro technique is this tulip painting that includes an extra focal point of the bug inside the bloom. I used the Funky Chunky, Paulo’s good brush and my smeary flat variant
