About Me

I’ve been a photographer for years, usually working with landscapes and macros as my subjects.  And while I was happy with the majority of my work, I always thought that I could “see” more in the image then what the final photo showed.  When Jasc/Corel released Paint Shop Pro 9, I was immediately intrigued by the new art media tools.  Between those tools and a plugin called virtual painter, I was able to “paint” on top of my photos, creating something closer to what I imagined.  After a lot of trial and error, I actually got up the nerve to submit some of my images to Corel with the intent of having my work featured in their Paint Shop Pro newsletter.

I never expected to hear anything about it again, but to my surprise Corel contacted me to include my work in this article

Since this article was published, I’ve “graduated” to Corel Painter IX.  This program gives me the ability to use so many different media, and to experiment with many different styles.  I’ve done a lot of “impressionistic” style images, and now am exploring more “artsy” photo styles using the techniques in Martin Addison’s “Painter IX for Photographers“.  Stay tuned as I share with you more of my photo art images.
