Over the summer I purchased a new camera, and one of the best features on it is a “back-light compensation” mode. If you’ve looked through some of my other pieces, you will see that I am drawn to scenes with dramatic lighting. The new camera makes those kind of shots easier, and more natural looking as I don’t have to do as much post-processing of the image. This is a painting of the trail behind Lake Isaac, and it was painted with the funky chunky, my sculpting chalk and smeary oil variants.
