This is a small patch of Autumn grasses and wildflowers taken in Letchworth State Park in upstate New York. As in other Autumn paintings, I’m looking for the “glow” that dramatic fall lighting can give. I used Den’s Funky Chunky, my sculpting chalk, and a smeary impasto brush for the details on the flowers.
